| Simple Home Treatment for Eczema |
|
Eczema is a skin inflammation. It tends to be accompanied by "flare ups" caused by an allergic reaction that leave your skin with an itchy rash . Eczema is incurable at this time, but there are many at home treatments to help prevent these flare ups and to help them go away when they do arise. Because of the allergen nature of this condition, it is best to stay away from whatever it may be that causes your flare ups. You can find out simply by paying attention to what you are consuming or products you are using. Having a journal of things such as meals, soaps, laundry detergents, and how your skin is each day, can help you determine on your own what is causing the inflammation. Keep your skin moisturized. Using soaps and lotions that have little to no fragrance added is the best way to go, seeing as a lot of fragrances will help the eczema react in a lot of cases. There are some over the counter lotions and creams specifically for eczema that you can apply to your skin. Another tip to help keep that skin from getting dry is keeping your bathing water warm. Too hot or too cold can dry it right up. If you are in the middle of a flare up, or feel one coming on, if at all possible, keep your exercise to a minimum. And try to stay cool. Sweating really affects the rash and can make it feel and look a lot worse. One more very important thing to remember is, as hard as it may be, do your best to not scratch your rash. This will prevent it from going away. You may have to put a cloth over it, or some gloves on to help remind you to leave it alone. If you wake up able to tell you have been scratching, put on those gloves the next night. Eczema is sometimes an unbearable condition, but it is treatable. These simple tips should help you control this and have a better quality of life. |
